It is the most populous hamlet of Mascali. It is located in a hilly area, at altitudes ranging from 150 to 310 meters above sea level (a.s.l.). The hamlet was once adjacent to old Mascali. The toponym is a variant of Annunziata and is connected to the ancient church around which the first inhabited nucleus formed: this is the Church of the Annunziata, known as la Nunziatella, dating back to the Norman era (11th-12th century), but restored in 2013.
